Early Chromebook pickup dates have been scheduled!

Device pickup will start on Tuesday, August 5th, and run through Friday, August 8th. Drop-in hours are from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, in the Swain High Media Center.

Incoming Freshmen will report on Tuesday, Sophomores on Wednesday, Juniors on Thursday, and Seniors on Friday. Students will also be able to receive their device during Open House on August 14th, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Registration will be required before you can pick up your Chromebook. School staff will check that all Technology agreements have been signed and submitted electronically before your student will be able to receive their device.

To enroll your student, please go online to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal and fill out the online registration forms. More information can be found on the Swain High Facebook page or Swain County Schools main website, under the “For Parents” tab.

Class of 2026 Senior Portraits!

This Wednesday, July 23rd, Prestige Portraits will be in the SCHS Swain Arts Center for 2025/2026 Yearbook photos!

Please sign up prior on www.prestigeportraits.com.
The cost is $30 for the Essential Session and $20 for the Mini Session.

Prestige will provide black drapes and tuxedos for all portraits. Students are required to wear a plain white t-shirt and bring two casual outfits for non-formal portraits.

IMPORTANT END OF YEAR EVENT INFORMATION FOR CLASS OF 2025 ⚠️ Yesterday, SCHS sent out that the Senior slideshow and parade would be on Tuesday, May 27, 2025; however, we have discovered this is a major scheduling conflict with the 8th grade moving up ceremony. The Senior slideshow will now be held on WEDNESDAY, May 28, 2025 @ 6:30-7:30 pm; the parade will be scheduled to follow. Seniors will line up in the parking lot at the gym; parents will have the opportunity to get downtown to watch the parade at approximately 7:45. We sincerely apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this has caused, May is a tremendously busy and tumultuous time of year for every school district! ⚠️ IMPORTANT DATES FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE YEAR: • Wednesday, April 30: Is show your colors day. Wear your college, military, or work colors. - Baccalaureate service - Friday, May 2nd. The Baccalaureate Service will take place on Senior Walk Day (Friday, May 2nd, 2025) at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Bryson City. Parents are welcome to join in this celebration, we would encourage you to get there earlier than 10:00am. Participation in the service is completely voluntary Students are NOT required to attend.  Students who do not wish to attend will be brought back to the high school by bus during this time. They will join their classmates for the graduation walk through the high school students' tunnel and participate in the bell-ringing ceremony at the front of the school.  The Baccalaureate Service for graduating seniors is a long-standing tradition at Swain County High School. It has been supported by the Bryson City Ministerial Association for a number of years and has been hosted by the local town churches including: BC First Baptist, BC United Methodist Church, BC Presbyterian, The Grove Church, & St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.
