Three Swain County freshmen won top awards in the Region One Soil and Water 2025 contests:
Riley Gunter won first place in the slideshow division, Delilah Parker won the regional speech contest, and Kendal Brown placed second in the essay division!

Blair Ogburn and Terry Bennett's environmental science students, along with Kim Holt's EC class, enjoyed searching for shark teeth and dinosaur remnants among samples from the Pliocene era! We are so grateful for this fun and educational opportunity provided by the Gray Fossil Museum and the Gear Up program for paying the lab fees!

SCHS kicked off Senior Week with an interactive experience called "The Reality of Money" sponsored by NC SECU. We would like to thank Heather Parton and the SECU employees, as well as SCC staff members, and SCS employees for volunteering their time to make this a successful event.
