The Swain High Women’s Golf Team traveled to Chatuge Shores in Hayesville for the first round of conference. The team finished the nine hole round in second place behind Cherokee (152) with a team total of 170. Robbinsville finished the day in third place with a team total of 176. The top three scores for the Maroon Devils was Senior Lola Collins and Junior Jayden Smiley finishing the day with a 56 (+20) and Senior Karena Cline shot a 58 (+22). Also competing were Seniors Mya Burrows-Kurr with a 60 (+24) and Senior Rose Carson with a 63 (+27). “I told the girls to go out with zero expectations, just to enjoy the round and the beautiful day,” stated Coach Josh Crisp, “we didn’t play our best, but these girls continue to get better each week with their mental golf game. I am proud of the girls and their effort!” The second round of conference will be held Tuesday October 15th at Sequoyah National. Tee time is set for 3 pm.
