SCHS is having a "Win This Guitar" Raffle until next Wednesday, May 22nd when the drawing will be held! The raffle prize is a 2012 Fender Alkaline Trio Malibu (SN: CSE12003744). The guitar is valued at $600, but raffle tickets are only $20 each with no individual limit! Please email Max Lanning at mlanning@swainmail.org if you are interested in purchasing tickets! Last week, Swain High celebrated our amazing teachers and staff with treats that were truly out of this world! ๐Ÿš€๐ŸŒŸ ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿซ Teacher Appreciation Week was filled with stellar appreciation activities to recognize the incredible work our teachers and staff do every day: ๐Ÿš€ Monday: Our teachers were treated to a galactic goody treat straight from the office, setting the tone for an extraordinary week ahead! ๐Ÿ” Tuesday: We took a "launch" break with a sizzling BBQ sponsored by the central office, fueling our team with delicious food and camaraderie. โ˜€๏ธ Wednesday: Was a "sun"sational day as Mrs. B, Mr. T, and Denene brightened everyone's lunchtime with heavenly sweets, making midweek feel like a delightful breeze. โ˜• Thursday: We soared through the day with a "cosmic" coffee break, thanks to our high-flying administration delivering tasty coffee drinks right to our doorsteps. ๐ŸŽ Friday: As the week drew to a close, our stellar staff got to pick up their "Swain Swag" Maroon Devil shirts, a token of our gratitude for their dedication and hard work. ๐Ÿ‘ Thank you to our incredible teachers and staff for everything you do! Swain County High will be holding the 200-question Drivers Ed exemption test on Wednesday, May 22nd after school in the Media Center. Any student who will be the age of 14 1/2 by this date is eligible to test. On test day, students are required to bring their school Chromebooks and chargers; Loaners or paper exams are not available. To the parents of current juniors! Your student will need to receive their meningococcal booster (2nd dose of MCV vaccination) before the start of the 2024/25 school year. NC back to school immunization requirements: Twelfth Grade entry vaccine requirements. DTaP 5 doses, Polio 4 doses, MMR (or 2 measles, 2 mumps, 1 rubella) 2 doses, Hepatitis B 3 doses, Varicella 1 dose, Tdap 1 dose, Meningococcal conjugate (effective 2020-2021 school year) 2 doses. At all ages and grades, the number of doses required may vary by a child's age and when they are vaccinated.

The Baccalaureate Service will take place on Senior Walk Day (Friday, May 3rd, 2024) at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Bryson City. Parents are welcome to join in this celebration, we would encourage you to get there earlier than 10:00am. Participation in the service is completely voluntary Students are NOT required to attend. Students who do not wish to attend will be brought back to the high school by bus during this time. They will join their classmates for the graduation walk through the high school students' tunnel and participate in the bell-ringing ceremony at the front of the school.
