Swain County Health Department in partnership with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, is pleased to be able to offer expanded no-cost COVID-19 virus testing capacity as part of a partnership between the state of North Carolina and OptumServe. This new community testing site builds on North Carolina’s ongoing work to increase access to testing and slow viral spread in key locations and reduce the burden on public and private local healthcare providers.

Rapid and PCR Testing will begin on October 1, 2021 in Swain County at the Swain County Recreation Center (old Pepsi building) ), 30 Recreation Park Drive Bryson City NC 28713. This testing site will be open Tuesdays from 8am to 2pm and Fridays from 11am to 6 pm (subject to change based on need and availability). Anyone can be tested, with or without symptoms, including those who have no insurance, undocumented and homeless individuals. While walk-ins are accepted, we encourage residents to register and schedule an appointment at lhi.care/covidtesting or call (877)562-4850.
